Based on the decision of the founder of Soros Foundation - Kazakhstan, Open Society Institute, Anton Artemyev has been appointed as new Chairman of the Foundation Executive Council and will take up his duties from May 2, 2012.
February 3, 2012 - Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan welcomes the adoption of the Law “On Amnesty Dedicated to the Twentieth Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and the subsequent decision by the city court number 2 of Ust-Kamenogorsk to release Yevgeny Zhovtis.
The expected release of the prominent human rights activist will become a long-awaited event for the civil society in Kazakhstan as well as for the international community.
