Public Finance Transparency
The Public Finance Transparency Program opened in 2010, and is a successor to two other SFK programs – “Kazakhstan Revenue Watch” and “Public Transparency and Accountability”. The program aims to improve transparency, accountability and effectiveness throughout the whole process of the generation and use of incomes from the extractive industries: starting from sub-soil use contract awards and finishing with State budget allocations for State programs involving socio-economic development.
Law Reform
Created in 1996, the Law Reform Program aims to assist the development of the rule of law in the protection of human rights. In 2008, a new program strategy was adopted and according to this strategy the Society for All Program was merged with the Law Reform Program, thus expanding general program activities.
Media Support
The Media Support Program started in 1996 and supports the development of social organizations working to protect freedom of speech, and promotes initiatives for the professional growth of journalists and media specialists, and also provides panels for discussions about the development of the media industry in Kazakhstan.
East East: Partnership Beyond Borders
The East East: Partnership Beyond Borders Program supports collaborative initiatives of nongovernmental and civil society organizations in two or more countries. The Program promotes the movement of ideas by convening people to create communities of interest and engage in collaborative actions with maximum impact across countries.
