Public Finance Transparency

The Public Finance Transparency program has been operating since 2010. This program is the successor to two other SFK programs, Kazakhstan Revenue Watch and Budget Transparency and Public Accountability.

The mission of the program is to ensure transparency, accountability and openness in public financial management for the benefit of the present and future generations of Kazakhstan.

Objectives:

• ensure access to information of public importance regarding subsoil use contracts;
• develop partnerships between government, mining companies, and civil society within the projects aimed at creating sustainable development in the regions;
• support the implementation of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Kazakhstan;
• improve the transparency and efficiency of public financial management; and
• develop partnerships between NGOs and the government of Kazakhstan to improve the efficiency of government programs aimed at sustainable social and economic development.
