The Republic of Kazakhstan is preparing a new Code on Subsurface and subsurface Use. As part of this process, the government developed and shared for comment a \u201cConcept\u201d outlining key policy directions for the new code.<\/div>\n
Over this years, IIED has supported and participated in dialogues on transparency and accountability in Kazakhstan and the Caspian region. This issue paper discusses ways to install robust transparency provisions in the new Code, making recommendations to take the Concept\u2019s policy\u00a0 directions to their full potential.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
