In Almaty the Camp of Social Innovations (SICamp) Central Asia will open

On May 31 in Almaty the Camp of Social Innovations (SICamp) Central Asia will open. Social Innovation Camp is carried out with support Fonda Soros – Kazakhstan, Transitions Online and Internyyus Kazakhstan.

On participation in SICamp 2012 138 demands from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan were submitted. Programmers, designers, journalists, representatives of NGO, bloggers offered more than 50 ideas as it is possible to use possibilities of the Internet for advance, solutions of the most various, real social problems which they consider important for themselves personally and for society as a whole. For participation 60 people who in 2 days should create 7 innovative social projects were selected.

SICamp will pass in sanatorium of Almaty. On May 31 Camp opening, and also a master class from Internyyus-Kazakhstan will take place. In the same day participants of SICamp which projects were selected, will present the ideas. Their task to interest other participants in the idea and to collect team for implementation of the project. On June 1-2 participants of camp will create the projects. Their work will be estimated by jury into which experts in the field of ICT, civil initiatives and business from the countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan entered. Results of SICamp become known on June 2.

Winners will get invaluable experience with colleagues from Central Asia.

Co-organizer of SICamp Internyyus-Kazakhstan: “We hope that their projects become socially significant, interesting and innovative, will be able to benefit and will be interesting to participants”. The main technical partner of action is JSC Kazakhtelekom.
