Participants of a conference “Prospects for Reforming Media Law in Kazakhstan,” organized by the International Foundation of Press Freedom Adil Soz, see a move by the Kazakh government to amend Civil and Criminal Codes as a timely window of opportunity for decriminalizing defamation.

In September of the current year the Fund Soros Kazakhstan (FSK) made changes to existing forms of out-of-competition demands for physical and legal entities – competitors of grants of Fund. Within a month we collected comments and proposals of our partners. On their basis the new – advanced and final versions of demands were developed.
